Pike County Forecast -- March 21, 2020

Confusing...

Let's see if we can sort this weather picture out. First, it's 61º, the relative humidity is 88% and the wind is out of the Northwest at 5 mph.  That part is easy to understand.

There's a cold front laying over Interstate 85, all the way across the State -- from Montgomery, Al all the way to Greenville, SC.

That tracks with what's on the radar -- the rain is just crossing I-85 and moving East.

So, it's going to rain in a little while and then clear off, right?  Well, when you put it that way, this (from the forecast discussion) finally makes some sense.

"A cold front will drift into north GA this morning and continue into central GA during the day. Some drying is expected over north and much of central this afternoon."

Then it goes on to say we might have an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon.  Glad we got all that straight.

"A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph."

I don't know if the phrasing threw my off, or what.  But now it all makes sense.  Rain this morning and it'll warm up enough this afternoon that we might get a thunderstorm late today.

Y'all be careful out there.
