Pike County Forecast -- March 2, 2020

Sooner or later it will rain.

It's 47º out at The Farm.  Not much wind to speak of.  It's 50ºF at the big airport.  There are three different cloud layers...oaky now there are two...

...and the lowest is at 13,000 ft.  (You don't care but I do.)  The "Broken" means the Sun might even peak out from the clouds this morning.  Maybe. As you can see, there isn't much wind up there either.

So, that just leaves us with when the rain will start.  If you're North of ATL it looks like "now" is the answer.  If you're South of ATL, it looks like it might be a while.  It looks like two different systems to me -- one in South Georgia and another approaching from Alabama/Tennessee.

"Today -- Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. High near 62. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible."

That doesn't sound so bad now does it?  Better than that little weather icon showing you a 70% chance of rain, when there's a chance that 70% of your day will be rainless. Enjoy the day.
