March 27th in TrumpWorld

Let's see what he did today.  I mean, what he did on this date.  You know, back when he was President.  (How many years do you think it will take before our allies forget?)

This is a good one.  It shows it's not just the guy in charge, it's the people he plugs into the system to run it.  Or dismantle it.

Climate Change Denialists in Charge

"As President Trump prepares to unveil an executive order to dismantle President Barack Obama’s climate change policies, Washington’s policy-making posts are filling with officials who have a record of openly denying the established science of human-caused climate change."

"Mr. Bannon is said to be pushing Mr. Trump to withdraw the United States from the 2015 Paris agreement, which committed nearly every country to take action on carbon dioxide pollution."

And he was successful, wasn't he?

"Scott Pruitt -- The administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency will lead the complex legal efforts to dismantle the Obama-era E.P.A. climate change regulations."

You know, words are supposed to matter.  Environmental Protection Agency.  That doesn't say Pollution Protection Agency.  It doesn't say Profit Protection Agency.

This is classic Republican Party -- before Trump.  It doesn't want to govern a democracy.  It wants to dismantle it.  "We're not a democracy, we're a republic."  Funny how you don't hear Republicans saying that so much these days.

By the way kids, do you know who started the Environmental Protection Agency?  (Wikipedia is your friend.  Send money.)

"President Trump kept a relatively low profile and did not make any public appearances on Tuesday, but emerged for a rare evening trip outside the White House..."

Say what?  Low profile?

"Since arriving back in Washington on Sunday from his Florida estate, Mr. Trump’s schedule showed no public appearances and he kept his usual tweeting to a minimum."

"He has opted instead to leave it to his aides to field questions about a continuing investigation into his campaign’s contact with Russia, allegations by a pornographic actress that his lawyer paid her to stay silent about an affair, a move to expel 60 Russian diplomats and his administration’s support for adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census."

You might want to read the article if you're a real political nerd.  It mentions the creation of "America First Policies" (a non-profit) and "America First Action" (a super PAC).

"The Trump administration’s decision to ask a federal appeals court to invalidate the Affordable Care Act has given House Democrats a new opening to pursue what they see as a winning political strategy: moving past talk of impeachment to put kitchen-table issues like health care front and center."

Yeah.  He tried to cancel Obamacare.  But read the next paragraph.

"The notice to the court, filed late Monday by the Justice Department, could not have come at a more opportune time for Democrats. The finding by Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, that there was no evidence of a criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, dashed the hopes of the most partisan Democrats that the House would impeach the president."

Now, if you take the time (in the online edition) to click on the link with "no evidence of a criminal conspiracy" you find that the "fact" is actually "according to a summary of the special counsel’s key findings made public on Sunday by Attorney General William P. Barr.".  And we now know that was a lie.  But it will take days before the media finds out it's a lie and by that time, the lie will have been heard a thousand times.  See how that works?  House Democrats (including Nancy Pelosi) are ready to move on because the lie has changed the politics.

"Ever since President Trump came into office, a record high turnover and unfilled jobs have emptied offices across wide sections of the federal bureaucracy. Now, current and former administration officials and disaster experts say the coronavirus has exposed those failings as never before and left parts of the federal government unprepared and ill equipped for what may be the largest public health crisis in a century."

Job Vacancies and Inexperience Mar Federal Response to Coronavirus

I can't think of a more damning indictment of the Trump Administration.  Remember, this wasn't his 1st year, this was his 4th year as President.  And lest anyone ever tries to tell me it wasn't so bad...I keep this video on my phone for an instant rebuttal.

March 27, 2021  Trump is gone but not forgotten.

"If the so-called Stop the Steal movement appeared to be chasing a lost cause once President Biden was inaugurated, its supporters among extremist organizations are now adopting a new agenda from the anti-vaccination campaign to try to undermine the government.

Bashing of the safety and efficacy of vaccines is occurring in chatrooms frequented by all manner of right-wing groups including the Proud Boys; the Boogaloo movement, a loose affiliation known for wanting to spark a second Civil War; and various paramilitary organizations."

Far-Right Extremists Move From ‘Stop the Steal’ to Stop the Vaccine

You know, right after January 6th (2021) not that many Americans knew who the Proud Boys were.  (Notice the article didn't mention the Oath Keepers?) And here they are, after all they did on that day, still killing Americans.  I hope they rot in jail.
