Dear Barrel Racers
Dear Barrel Racers,
If you are viewing this on Flickr (which is where by non-business card directs people) you will only find my best pictures here. You will *not* find the 3,000 to 5,000 pictures I took at the Honey Pot Barrel Racing event at The Agribition Center in Huntsville, Alabama on March 9, 2024.
What is causing the confusion is the fact that I am not a pro. I'm an amateur. I don't sell pictures. I give mine away. I'm simply a local photographer that wandered in and asked if I could take pictures. Honey Pot Barrel Racing said yes.
If you were there, I *probably* have a picture of your run. I *did* miss some. (Especially around 3:30 or so.) The way to see if I got yours is to email me — Get The Flick at yahoo dot com — tell me what you and your horse look like or were wearing (I like colors) and I'll email you a picture.
"I have long, blond hair that was tied up, no cap, no helmet (no need to mention cowboy hats because none of you — sadly -- were wearing one). I was wearing a gray sweat shirt and jeans. My horse is a paint and my run was at 5:26 PM + 12 seconds. (I really don't like searching by time but I'm just letting you all know digital pictures do have a time stamp.)
No strings, no gimmicks, no nothing. Just email me and I'll send you the best I've got. I do *not* send bad pictures, pictures of train wrecks or anything else I think might be wrong. I'm am amateur. I get to operate by my own rules (of which there are many).
This is fun for me — and people enjoying my pictures is half the fun.
If you're still with me, I'll say it again. This is fun to me. I don't want to shoot a pro race at a fancy indoor arena. I want to shoot outside. And the smaller the arena, the better. You can check out my work if you don't believe me. Go to the top of the page, right below the banner and click on "Albums". You'll see my best work is always outdoors and it's mostly at the small events. (Yes, I will shoot a covered arena or even an indoor arena.) Invite me to your event (if you like what you see). I might say yes.
