The Flick -- A term used by air traffic controllers to describe a mental model representing the current and future positions of air traffic in a section of airspace. Controllers visualize the paths of multiple aircraft in terms of position, altitude, trajectory and speed. Controllers also refer to this as "having the picture." But the picture moves -- like a movie -- hence the term “the flick.”

The Michael Yon Effect
You are going to go to Michael Yon’s web site to see the extraordinary pictures of CH-47s supplying an outpost in Afghanistan. Trust me, they’re unreal. You’ll stay to read his extraordinary writing. Be sure to keep clicking the “next” button. There are 3 pages of pictures and they just keep getting better. And so does the writing.
Many of you have heard of Michael Yon already. Those that haven’t should. He’s been doing this for years now -- telling the story of our soldiers like no one else.
If you have any English friends, be sure to send them to this site. They’ll appreciate it. Don’t copy the photos and email them out. Send people to the site. Mr. Yon is an independent journalist and he needs the money to finance his work.
Now go see The Kopp-Etchells Effect
