Try Something New
I don't know why, but I keep blowing off the Flickr Friday deadlines. I'm not into competitions. I'm certainly not interested in being famous or turning pro (I shoot JPEGs for goodness sakes) so you'd think I would just have fun with it. Use it as an excuse to try something new.
So when I went back to Cold Springs today (hoping for icicles) I made myself try something new. Well new for me. I collapsed the tripod down as far as it went, pulled out the articulated screen on my "new" camera and composed a scene (with a foreground!) in Live View. I even forced myself to keep the view wide instead of zooming in like I usually do.
Like I said, it won't be new to most photographers but it's new for me.
