COVID-19 in America -- May 25, 2020
-- John Hopkins CSSE is reporting 1,643,499 cases of COVID-19 in the US as of 5:00 AM, May 25, 2020
(Yesterday) -- John Hopkins CSSE is reporting 1,622,990 cases of COVID-19 in the US as of 5:00 AM, May 24, 2020
That's 20,509 new cases compared to yesterday's 21,556 new cases.
Note: I took the time to look up the number of counties (or their equivalent) in America: 3,243.
Just to give you a different way to think about these numbers: 20,509 new cases divided by 3,243 counties = an average of 6.32 new cases per county. That probably sounds good to someone in Fulton County (Atlanta) but my county (Pike) hasn't had 6 new cases in 3 weeks. Until suddenly, we do. I can only assume that testing is finally kicking in. James Fallows posted a new (to me) site which tracks the spread of COVID-19.
