Pike County Forecast -- Thursday, April 30, 2020

And another good morning everyone. My phone ap says it's going to be a strange day. Let's see what's in store.

It's 56º out at the Farm with the relative humidity at 99% and the wind out of the West at less than 5 mph. Checking the forecast we get:

"Partly sunny, with a high near 66. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph."

That doesn't seem so odd to me.  ATL is sending out mixed messages again. It makes me think the reporting criteria has changed

.

But my phone is still saying it's only going to be 61ºF by 1 PM.  The forecast discussion makes it all a little clearer.

"Lingering showers and an embedded thunderstorm or two will continue to exit eastward out of the forecast area through sunrise as the surface cold front progresses through the area. Behind the front, breezy northwest winds can be expected today alongside much cooler temperatures. High temperatures this afternoon will be around 10-12 degrees below seasonal normals. Additionally, wraparound clouds around the upper low will envelop much of north Georgia through the afternoon with a few light rain showers also possible in far north Georgia."

The radar bears that out so all we have left is the surface map and we are done.

Enjoy the cool weather.  It will be summer in Georgia soon enough.
