FAA History Lesson -- May 5

From the FAA Historical Chronology, 1926-1996...

”May 5, 1930: The Post Office Department, hoping to stimulate air passenger traffic, issued an order calling for the installation of at least two passenger seats in each mail plane operated by day. ”

How’d that work out ? The space shuttle Discovery is set for launch at the end of this month. Even that has become old hat. Sometimes, it’s good to look back at how far we’ve come.
