Red Tail

There's this big, red-tailed hawk that hangs around the empty fields between all the development happening on the NE side of Huntsville, where I live.  I saw him sitting on a light pole the other day while the light was nice so I stopped for some pictures.  I got several of him sitting on the light pole before he flew off.  But I liked this one better, of him landing in a nearby tree with tail lit up by the Sun.

Always wondered why it's called a red-tailed hawk.

A programming genius has written something he calls "RSS Parrot", which turns a blog into an account that anyone on Mastodon can follow, just like a user. I've asked it to make one for Get the Flick. We can follow you now, @gettheflick.blogspot.com@rss-parrot.net

Happy New Year!
