Sharp-Dressed Cowgirl

I can't tell you what a joy it is to photograph these kids that dress the part.  After shooting nothing but barrel-racing practice for a few months, the difference it makes in photographs is stunning.  That's my pep talk for getting good pictures.  But if anybody would like some competition advice…

I have a number of shots of folks being distracted by their hats.  Especially ropers. The U.S. military has a saying — train like you fight.  My point being: You can practice roping in your baseball cap but don't be surprised if you bump your cowboy hat with your rope in competition.

Did I mention cowboy hats make better pictures?  Just sayin'.
