(Yesterday) -- John Hopkins CSSE is reporting 7,418,107 cases of COVID-19 in the US as of 5:00 AM, October 5, 2020.

That's 40,443 new cases compared to yesterday's 35,163 new cases. 470 Americans died from COVID-19 yesterday.
