(Yesterday) -- John Hopkins CSSE is reporting 7,501,817 cases of COVID-19 in the US as of 5:00 AM, October 7, 2020.

That's 48,914 new cases compared to yesterday's 43,267 new cases.  925 Americans died from COVID-19 yesterday.
