Preserve Nature

A shameless plug for the folks at the Land Trust of North Alabama.  One of the first things I did when I moved to Huntsville was join the Land Trust and I am so glad I did.  Actually, they are a part of why I moved here.  One of the reasons Huntsville is so much prettier than Chattanooga (another city we considered) is that the Land Trust has been able to preserve some of the mountains that surround Huntsville.  You can't believe the difference it makes (unless you're photographer that thinks about these things) to see a mountainside covered in Fall color instead of a mountainside covered in trophy houses. The Land Trust hasn't been able to save them all from the developers but the places it has saved make a huge difference.

If you live anywhere in North Alabama, you should join.
