Like Lava

The sky was so hot this morning — I mean like lava — that I couldn't get a decent picture of it.  Here's the best one I got of it.  You can see the valley fog lit up by traffic and street lights, but even with a GND filter, the sky was getting washed out.  It was beautiful to the eye.  It was just tough for a camera.

I finally turned away from the Southeast and started taking pictures to the East and North.  (In that it's going to rain tomorrow you'll probably get to see one or two.) I'm sure if I shot in RAW and owned Photoshop I could have "fixed it in post".  But I don't.  And I'm pretty sure this sunrise didn't need "fixing".
