The Flick -- A term used by air traffic controllers to describe a mental model representing the current and future positions of air traffic in a section of airspace. Controllers visualize the paths of multiple aircraft in terms of position, altitude, trajectory and speed. Controllers also refer to this as "having the picture." But the picture moves -- like a movie -- hence the term “the flick.”

Today’s Photo 2-17-11
I’ve been after this shot for years but I could never find the time when the weather and the position of the Sun was right. Have I mentioned how great retirement is?
That, sir, is a picture. Maybe becuase I'm a certified (or is that certifiable, is there a difference?) train nut, but I do like that, very, very much.
Thanks for sharing and for putting your retirement time to excellent use.
I work in the railroad industry (my company sells parts that keep the track in place), so I have a bit of an interest in that regard. When I first saw the pic, before I read anything, I thought, "That's some fire down the track!" After reading what it is, yeah, I guess so...lol.
You have an incredible talent and I thank you for sharing!
