The Flick -- A term used by air traffic controllers to describe a mental model representing the current and future positions of air traffic in a section of airspace. Controllers visualize the paths of multiple aircraft in terms of position, altitude, trajectory and speed. Controllers also refer to this as "having the picture." But the picture moves -- like a movie -- hence the term “the flick.”

The Great Blue Heron finally had enough of the Great Egret walking into its territory and chased it across the lake. Fortunately for me.
Thanks Mike. I'm working very hard at keeping photography a hobby. I made the mistake of turning it into a job once. I hope have the brains not to repeat that mistake. But I *do* like compliments. :) Thanks.

Don,
As much as I like your blogging on the FAA, the economy, and the world, I really have enjoyed your photography of late.
Any thoughts on a coffee table book in the form of a photo essay?
Regardless, keep up the good work. It's a pleasure reading your blog every day.
Mike
