The Artists are Outnumbered

It's hard to imagine a place with more after-dark picture-taking opportunities than the Tinsel Trail in Big Spring Park, Huntsville, Alabama.

Each Christmas tree is sponsored by a local entity — corporation, business or charity.  Most are gloriously gaudy.  A few are works of art and more than a few stretch the limits of Christmas (much less good taste).  In years past I've seen a Christmas tree airplane, medical scanner and even a Christmas-tree-turned-rocket launcher.  This year, I understand there is a Taylor Swift tree.  (I haven't seen it yet.)

Anyway, it's great fun to walk around and see what folks have dreamed up this year.  Fortunately, Huntsville has a large artistic crowd that tries to ride herd on the engineers. Just keep in in mind, as always, the artists are outnumbered.
