PSA: Turn Your Headlights On!

Look, Otto (and the whole Matic family really) ain't got the sense God gave a billy goat.

I had a friend stop to talk to me on the mountain the other morning. He was driving and I was walking. It may have been the day it was snowing but it was definitely a foggy day. You couldn't see 100 feet. I told him he needed to turn his lights on. He told me they were on Auto so they should be on. I just looked at him. (It's okay. He's used to it.)

Blame it on the fog., Blame it on the snow. Whatever. He mentioned it was pretty bad, him driving around in the fog where people are walking -- in a white car -- without his lights on. See? He figured it out all by himself. He's not dumb. He was just ignorant.

How about you? Are you ignorant? Do you let Otto do your thinking? Are your lights on in the rain, fog and dusk? Are you *sure*? LOOK. Can you see your headlight reflected on the road sign? On the car in front of you?

But here's a sneaky one for those of you that want to run around with your lights on auto. I've noticed several new cars with their parking and/or day-time running lights on in front but there are no lights on in the back.  No tail lights. I'm, thinking the same engineer came up with that idea decided a car cranking up by remote needed to have its backing-up lights come on -- in the parking lot -- before anybody is even in the car. What would you like to bet his last name is Matic?

Use your turn signal while you're at it. And please shut it off if you're not turning.

T'isn't hard...

Please.
