So Much Life

I know scientists have done it.  It's probably why it came to mind — I read about it somewhere back in time.  Just plot off a square foot of this forest and count all the species in it.  So much life.  A tree that seems to be growing out of solid rock.  The ferns, the moss, the wildflowers. If you look real close, you might even notice the squirrel. (At the base of the tree on the right side.)
