Never Grow Jaded
I always wonder, if all sunrises and sunsets were this magnificent, would we come to take them for granted?
I was somewhere in Colorado one time, filling up my rental car. One of the workers walked by, emptying the trash or something, and I said, "How do you ever get used to this?". Just standing there in a gas station, I could see a dozen snow-covered mountains stretched out along a valley where the road was headed. It's one of the prettiest scene I've ever seen. I can still see it, in my mind, almost 40 years later.
"Used to what?" I waved at the mountains. He shrugged his shoulders. "They always look like that."
I hope I never grow jaded about a sunrise like this. February 20, 2024 from the overlook at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
