Pike County Forecast -- March 22, 2020
Complicated...
The cold front that went through did it's job. It's a nice and cool 47ºF out here in the country. The problem is, it won't stay a cold front. Anyway...the relative humidity is 90% and the wind is out of the North at 5-10 mph.
Here's the official forecast:
Today
Showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 66. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
But as we all know, I read the forecast discussion too. And it says, in part...
"Showers will make a rapid return after sunrise as a short wave approaches the forecast area. Also...another wedge will build in across the area today."
Now, in my book, "rapid return after sunrise" ain't "4pm".
And in the case of the cold front, the cold front -- according to the surface map -- turns into a stationary front just south of us. I'm not saying I don't trust the weatherman. I'm just saying it's awfully complicated to predict anything about today with any certainty.
