Our World Has Changed
Donald G. McNeil is the doomsday reporter for the New York Times. Okay, actually:
"Donald G. McNeil Jr. is a science and health reporter specializing in plagues and pestilences. He covers diseases of the world’s poor, including AIDS, Ebola, malaria, swine and bird flu, mad cow disease, SARS and so on."
I've heard him a half dozen times on The Rachel Maddow Show and The Daily. This time he was on Fareed Zakaria's Global Public Square. I like him. Perhaps he's a kindred spirit. You should watch this section. Especially around the 8 minute mark.
"We're gonna have to think about getting enough calories, perhaps for the next year, until a vaccine is here."
I haven't looked at my 401k (actually it's a TSP account) since COVID-19 hit. What's the point? Even if it was all in gold, you can't eat gold.
Our world has changed so drastically, it might take us a while to wrap our heads around it. I suspect it's important to wrap faster.
