Bankhead Bridge
It was cold this morning. It briefly went down to 23ºF — which is unusual for this time of year. So I went for a walk on the lower part of the Bankhead Trail. Some of it is in Monte Sano State Park but some of it is on the Land Trust of North Alabama's property and I don't mention them nearly enough. I'm a member. And if you live in North Alabama, you should be too.

That's pretty hilarious. I do check the titles — to make sure I haven't used one before. Two years and one day ago? I was at "The Bridge on Bankhead", trying to get this picture in the fog. Anyway, while I'm here...no mystery on ISO 100 instead of 400. I was monkeying around with sunrise and just forgot to reset it. F22 is just to get the sunstar. The polarizer is to take the shine off the leaves. The "Flash" white balance was probably unnecessary here. But it's a habit now. The Bankhead Trail is on the north side of the mountain so I'm in the shade a lot and need the extra "warmth" on the white balance. I'd set it (habitually) when I set my gear up in the parking lot.
I was telling some young photographers, I don't know how they're teaching people photography these days. There is so much technology on cameras — it's hard to know what they're doing. 95% of the time, I still use "Manual" and think about what I'm doing.
