Chasing Gold

I stayed at the overlook this morning longer than usual.  The summit was in the clouds but the forecast was for it to clear off.  Just a couple of minutes after sunrise, the red rubber ball teased me for a few seconds but was gone before I could catch it in a good composition.  Then the golden-fog  light showed up for an even briefer moment.  I waited another 30 minutes, hoping it would show again.

I finally gave up and walked downhill a little on the Bankhead Trail, hoping for some God beams but the fog only got thicker.  In other words, I spent all morning chasing gold.  This was as close as I got.
