Tough Terrain

Today's sunrise looked just like yesterday's sunrise (and the day's before that) so I thought I'd show you some of the tough terrain around here. The mountains here don't have a lot of top soil on them. As you can see, there is a lot of bare rock.  Much more than I'm used to back in the mountains of Georgia.  However, there is no shortage of vines, briars and brambles.  All this will melt into a sea of green leaves in month or two.

Shortly after sunrise on the Tollhouse Trail in Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville, Alabama.
