Fall, Fog, Fallen

It's not often I feel compelled to shoot verticals these days.  But the nearly-bare trees hanging over the Bankhead Trail felt like a cathedral in the fog.

We were having a beautiful Fall and then a cold snap hit.  We hadn't even had a frost yet and it went down to 26ºF or so. It really zapped the leaves.  The low this morning was 64ºF.  Crazy weather.

Anyway, it's funny how it goes, back when I started, photographers were always told to shoot verticals.  Everybody wanted that (vertical) magazine cover.  Then digital photography came along and everybody was looking at pictures on a (horizontal) computer.  Then Steve Jobs decided to make a (vertical) smartphone.  Sigh. It pains me to think the majority of my pictures are seen on a smartphone and a bunch of those don't even bother to turn it horizontal.
