The Time of Yellow Flowers

The woodland sunflowers are blooming along the Bankhead Trail in Monte Sano State Park.  At least in the spots where there is enough sunshine.  They started blooming about 2 weeks ago — when I left for England — and I'm surprised how good they still look.  It's nice to see the cheery color in the dull green of mid-summer.
