Backup to the Backup
So, a dumb thing happened to me while I was photographing the bluebells. From yesterday's pic, you saw that the bumble bee landed on the flower I was photographing. I spun the ISO up, switch to motor drive and fired off about 100 frames, trying to chase it as the bee moved from flower to flower. And then my battery died.
Say what? I had just installed it earlier that morning after my other battery died, photographing the sunrise. In other words, it was a freshly-charged battery and there's no way it should have died that fast. (I'm guessing it's an old one.) But die it did. And there I was, over a mile down the trail with 2 dead batteries. The back up to the back up is the cell phone. So here's a rare cellphone pic from me. And yes, I got some funny looks from folks with a cellphone mounted on a tripod. But that's the way I roll.
