Comparing COVID-19

Did know that the State of Georgia (USA) and the country of Greece are about the same size?

In addition, they have similar-sized populations.

Greece 10,724,599

Georgia 10,617,423

So, would anybody care to explain this?

190 deaths in Greece.  2,702 deaths in Georgia, USA.

Just to rub salt in the wound I've (hopefully) created in your Amurican psyche...Georgia has 69,381 confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health

Check the map above.  That's 69,381 cases for one of the thirteen original colonies of the United States of America and 3,310 cases for the birthplace of Democracy.  Can you explain that?

Don't take my word for it.  Find a country that is similar to your State.  Map Fight will give you a size.  (No, size really isn't important.) Wikipedia will help you find a country with a similar population to your State.  Then jump over to John Hopkins' site tracking COVID-19 and look at the numbers.

Maybe then you'll understand what an unmitigated disaster our response to this epidemic has been in these United States of America.
