Right On Time
Another beautiful sunrise on the mountain this morning. It was cool enough (and windy enough) that I had to put on my rain jacket. (I've already put my hoodie up for the summer.) I suspect it will be one of the last cool mornings we'll see until Fall.
You'll be happy to know, the Sun was right on time this morning. At 5:39. (My weather ap disagrees with my web page but never mind.) We're a month away from the solstice when it will rise at 5:32 (in my location) for 10 days in a row. (Think about it. From 5:32:00 to 5:32:59.) It will also appear to stand still for 11 days — rising on 060º. (Overlapping but different days.) I wish I had the brains to understand orbital mechanics but I guess I'll just have to stick to shooting pictures.
From the overlook at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
