Fishing for the Sunrise

So then, the park that was open for sunrise yesterday was not open for sunrise today. (Insert rant about the need for a Photography Park.) As I sat, waiting at the gate, I decided to look at Google Maps.  "I'm not far from Lake Michigan", I says.  I searched for "Lighthouse", hit the GO button and took off.  I was one minute late for the sunrise.  But as you can see, all was not lost.

A wise man once said, "90% of life is showing up".  A not-so-wise man says, "You can't get lucky if you don't show up."  A photographer who has lived through a lot of frustrating mornings, not being able to find a place to photograph a sunrise has a new maxim, "Follow the fishermen".  Their places are always open early.  And you can usually find a spot to photograph the sunrise.
