The Day Blue Sat Still
Yes, the red dog is named Blue. Blue is an Irish Setter. I don't know if you've ever been around an Irish Setter but, well, they're nuts. They can't sit still for 5 seconds. I've seen one run around the same bush for an hour for no apparent reason.
You can't keep Blue out of the lake. I usually have about 30 seconds to get a picture of him before he wades in and comes out looking like a drowned red rat. Until today. He just sat there. Twice. In the rising sunlight, watching the water. I've never seen him do it before.
Believe it or not, I think he was watching a Piper Cub's (actually, I think it was a Taylorcraft but we won't go there) reflection in the lake. It was just tooling around overhead and he couldn't quite figure out when to jump in so he could retrieve it. It was hilarious.
Anyway, the light was perfect, I didn't have anything else and people love dog pictures. So here you go. I cropped it and — believe it or not — retouched it to get rid of an eye booger reflecting in the sun.
