Pike County Forecast -- Wednesday, April 29, 2020

It's a pleasant 53º out at the Bledsoe Research Farm in beautiful Pike County. The relative humidity is 93% and the wind is out of the Northwest at less than 5 mph.  A quick look at Hampton on the forecast page doesn't show anything different so here's the forecast.

"Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. High near 73. South wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible."

A reading of the forecast discussion shows the showers will start just before lunch but what the weatherman is worried about is later in the afternoon.  They think it's going to be just your garden-variety Georgia thunderstorms but the conditions are a tough call so it might take a turn for the worse.  As always, the picture improves the closer a storm system gets. Check on the weather again at lunch.

Here.  This picture of the radar will help remind you.

Not a good day to be in Louisiana or Texas. All of that is supposed to weaken before it gets here. Like I said, make sure it does. Yes, it's a cold front. Yes, it should be another beautiful day tomorrow, after it pushes through tonight.
