Still Hawk
I was on the downhill side of my morning walk when I saw a white spot in a tree. It was this guy. I did my normal routine when I'm photographing critters. I stop where I am, take a few shots, walk 10 steps closer, take a few more shots and repeat. Sure enough, he flew off — straight up the road — when I'd closed then distance by half.
So I walked about 1/2 mile on down the road and there he/she was again. (Or maybe his partner.) Only this time, he never flew off. Seriously, he's hanging over the left side of the road and I'm shooting him from the right side of the road. Finally, somebody else came up the road with dogs and he flew off. He's watching them in this shot.
