Forest Floor Mystery
I have no idea what they are. Call it a forest floor mystery.
It was a foggy morning on Monte Sano. To be accurate, the summit of Monte Sano was in the clouds. Windy. Wet. A front was passing through and the temperature dropped 10-15 degrees. In other words, it was pretty miserable. I went all morning without getting a picture I wanted but I spotted these on the way down the mountain. Ferns? Mushrooms? Beats me. Anyway, there are hundreds of them sprouting at the base of a big tree just downhill from the 1/2 mile marker. I'll be sure to keep my eye on them.
