(Yesterday) -- John Hopkins CSSE is reporting 30,923,295 cases of COVID-19 in the US as of 5:00 AM, April 8, 2021.

That's 79,277 new cases compared to yesterday's 75,558 new cases.  999 Americans died from COVID-19 yesterday.
