Pike County Forecast -- Sunday, April 26, 2020
Good morning again, everyone. It's a nice 54ºF out at the Farm. The realative humidity is 75% with the wind from the Northwest at 5-10 mph. Hampton is reporting Fair skies with the visibility at 10 miles. And that is the same page that gives us the forecast.
Whoa, wake one minute. There is a Wind Advisory. It says, in part:
____________________
...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected. * WHERE...North and central Georgia. * WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result._____________________
Well, okay, then. Back to the forecast:
"Sunny, with a high near 69. West wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph."
And just so you won't be surprised, it going down into the 40s tonight.
Did you notice I got that sprinkle/shower thing right yesterday? You could barely feel it but you could see it falling on the lake. See?
Same deal this morning. There's one band of showers, just leaving Alabama headed this way, that might give us a sprinkle.
That just leaves the surface map. If you can imagine the counter clockwise winds around that low in West Virginia combined with the clockwise winds of the High in Texas...you get an idea about why the wind is going to blow.
Or, you could just look at it here. (You forgot about that one didn't you?)
