Pike County Forecast -- Thursday, April 9, 2020
Boom, Boom. Out go the lights!
A thunderstorm is approaching Pike County as I write this (5:18 AM). There's a whole line of them approaching Atlanta at this moment. Be sure to take a look at the radar to get the big picture.
Now, for the rest of the day;
It's 65º out at the Farm. It will probably drop a few degrees with the approaching storm. The humidity is 99% with the wind out of the West at 10 mph.
The forecast:
Thursday
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
There is, of course, a hazardous weather warning.
There is, of course, a hazardous weather warning.
A line of storms is moving through central Georgia producing strong winds and frequent lighting. This line will have the potential to produce severe winds, hail, and a weak and short- lived tornado or two.
It is a cold front, so expect cooler temperatures and wind. The low tomorrow morning is expected to be below 50ºF.
Stay safe. Enjoy the afternoon.
