B&W Mushroom

Another cold and overcast morning on Monte Sano. It was one of those mornings where you don't mind walking — just to stay warm.  Anyway, I saw this cool mushroom just off the trail.  I could swear that just a day or two ago, it was just a normal, half-circle mushroom growing out of a dead tree.  But today it had that black stem, pushing it away from the tree.  I'm not a fungi guy but I've never noticed one before.
