A Hint of the Sun

It was a strange morning.  Everything showed clear — even the satellite loop — but when I got to the mountain I couldn't see a single star.  I could see Venus — but no stars.  Even though I arrived early — an hour and ten minutes before sunrise.  And even though I stayed until five minutes after sunrise, I never saw a hint of the Sun.  Dust, smoke, haze?  I don't know.

Oh well.  It's archive day (last day of the month) so I just pulled one out of the archives.  The wall was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, nearly a hundred years ago.  At Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
