They Never Open

According to my phone (PictureThis), it's a Sweet Betsy trillium (Trillium cuneatum).  According to a local walker, they never open.  The bloom stays just like this one, in the morning Sun, along the Bankhead Trail.

In Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville, Alabama.
