Framed Again
It's one of my favorite, reoccurring shots in a rodeo — when a lasso frames a face. First, I like the roping events best. Nothing says "cowboy" quite like a lariat. Second, it's a visually interesting shot despite being what I call a "mom shot". Most people might like to see action but "mom" wants to see her kid. Third, it's hard to spin a rope and mug for the camera at the same time.
And now that I've said that, somebody will try it so...let me let you in on a secret. If I (and a lot of other photographers) point a camera at you, you're already doing something that has caught my eye. You don't need to do anything different. As a matter of fact, I probably *don't* want you to do anything else. Just go on being you and ignore me.
