Toolmaker

There are several places along the Bankhead Trail where — if you'll look — you can see these pieces of rock flaking off the underside of the large rocks that line a lot of the road.  They are almost all sandstone so they aren't hard like flint. But it doesn't take much effort to find one that is sharp enough to cut a small branch or vine.  And you don't have to spend any time knapping it.  I can't help but wonder if native Americans didn't think of them as toolmakers.
