The Moon Also Rises
The Moon also rises on Monte Sano. I remembered to look up what time moonrise was going to happen at 5:40. Moonrise was at 5:41. This was taken at 5:52. It had to clear the haze layer before you could see it. And is faded into the daylight about 20 minutes before sunrise (which was at 6:47 AM CST).
From the overlook at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
For the learners out there, I had to use the high ISO because the Moon moves. (Okay, the Earth rotates.) As I've said before, F8 is my default F-stop. It's the middle of the road between sharp and fast. Even at ISO 4,000 I was still shooting at one second or better (I bracket exposures with the shutter speed) and I wasn't at all sure it would be enough to keep the Moon sharp.
