Focus on Gurley
With the Sun rising behind the Golan Heights, there's hardly a sunrise composition available that doesn't include the town of Gurley — out East of Huntsville. So, for a while now, the focus will be be on Gurley. On the good days, the valley fog will cover it up.
Just to throw the idea out there again: One of the major problems in developing a Photography Park will be "buying the view". Gurley is at least 7 miles from the Monte Sano State Park overlook. That's a lot of land you'd have to buy to protect your views. Which is the reason the idea fits better in a rural area.
But, there is another idea one of my smarter friends told me about. A "viewshed". Just like a watershed is developed to protect the water, a few places have floated the idea of a viewshed. A set of rules to protect the "million dollar view" people buy. I'm pretty sure somebody with a million dollar house and a pricey lawyer came up with that idea but that wouldn't stop me from using it to protect a Public park's view. Just something to chew on.
