Georgia: Crash-Test Democrats
Is anyone else nervous about March 24, 2020? That’s the date of the Georgia Democratic Primary to choose a Presidential candidate. I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere else so I thought I would. Mention it, that is. (Put your thinking cap on.)
The vote in Georgia, to choose a Democratic Presidential candidate will be run by a Republican Secretary of State (Brad Raffensperger). You might remember that the last Secretary of State in Georgia is now the Governor -- Bubba Trump ™, AKA Brian Kemp.
This would be a good place to remember all the shenanigans that happened last time Bubba Trump was in charge of elections.
Okay, stick with me now. A Republican SOS, in a State run by a guy that owes his election to Trump will be running the election to nominate a Democrat for President. On brand new machines. (I’m sorry; Ballot Marking Devices.) That’s right. On voting machine straight out of the boxes. That have never been tested in an actual election.
What could go wrong? I mean, besides Russians?
“As evidence mounted that Russian hackers were attempting to disrupt the 2016 elections, President Obama directed Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson to work with states to secure their voting systems as “critical infrastructure." Kemp was the only state election official who declined the help.” (Just in case you didn’t take the time to click on that link above.)
