Walk Away
I waited 2 hours for this picture to show up. The weatherman was warning about strong thunderstorms and tornadoes as we went to bed last night. Just to the west — in Alabama and Mississippi — they hit pretty hard. Anyway, the storms rolled through at my normal picture-taking time so I stayed home until the worst was over. Then I went down and waited. And walked. And waited. And walked with my tripod back and forth across the lake so I wouldn't miss this moment.
After 10 AM and my normal 3 miles of walking, I gave up. It was time to go home and attend to life. I backed up, turned the truck towards home and the Sun broke out as I crossed the dam. I took this with my phone. If you want something to happen, just walk away.
